How To Start A Riot
“I wanted to know why people I’d never met were rioting
in places I’d never been to…”
Three performers use text, torchlight and crowd psychology to unpick the presumed causes of civil unrest. This show was developed in consultation with crowd psychologist Prof. Clifford Stott. It premiered at The Space, Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2012, to critical acclaim, before touring the UK until 2014.

“The real beauty of How to Start a Riot is watching that embryonic thought

★★★
“When there have been so many attempts to establish the cause of the London riots by interviewing a small selection of individuals who took part in them, it’s refreshing to find a play that looks at the wider picture”
